The River of Dreams

By day I spend my time on Earth
By night I sail on the river of dreams
Filled with visions from every hearth
Joining the river like tiny streams
So many dreams and ambitions
So many regrets and fantasies
Dreamt by people of various nations
Stretching over the river as far as I can see
Many discarded and broken dreams
Lie on the opposite shore
Begging to be among the streams
And longing to be more
Does Morpheus ever sail by this river
And look upon the dreams?
Or does he merely give a sneer
And continue sailing upstream?
The river is my lone solace
For here, I’m the queen
And as sure as dreams can build palaces
I will always sail this dream
